Lucky #13: T-Mobile Center Earns Highest Year-End Ranking in Venue History in 2010

Having recently celebrated its third anniversary, T-Mobile Center, Kansas City’s award winning arena, ended 2010 with its highest year-end ranking among Top 100 Worldwide Arenas. According to Pollstar Magazine’s 2010 Year End Report, T-Mobile Center has been recognized as America’s fifth busiest arena and No. 13 among Worldwide Venues. The #13 slot is T-Mobile Center’s highest year-end ranking since opening on Oct. 10, 2007.

“T-Mobile Center has experienced an amazing three year run,” said Brenda Tinnen, AEG Kansas City senior vice president and general manager. “Kansas City continues to maintain its position among the cities around the globe that are known for appreciating diverse, world class entertainment. We eagerly anticipate huge announcements that will position the region for continued success in 2011 and beyond.”

T-Mobile Center exceeded both attendance and fiscal projections for the most recently audited fiscal year that ended on July 31, 2010. In 2010, T-Mobile Center has hosted 17 of the top 20 North American Tours including Bon Jovi, Roger Waters, Michael Buble, Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney’s Up and Coming Tour, Elton John and Billy Joel: Face to Face, Justin Bieber, The Black Eyed Peas and An Evening with James Taylor and Carole King.

Pollstar utilizes an extensive database to collect box office reports from the world’s top-level artists, promoters and venues during the 2010 calendar year. The result is a series of eagerly anticipated rankings and industry outlook that are included in the magazine’s popular year end issue. Rankings are based on tickets sold for live entertainment performances between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010.
