New York Rangers and Colorado Avalanche Face-Off On Oct. 6

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 3, 2012) – NHL action returns to Kansas City this fall when the New York Rangers and Colorado Avalanche meet at T-Mobile Center on Saturday, Oct. 6. The Rangers-Avalanche game is the first neutral site preseason game announced for both squads for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. Tickets for the NHL Preseason game presented by Toyota and Home Depot go on sale to the public on Friday, May 11. Fans that have purchased tickets for previous NHL contests at T-Mobile Center will receive special pre-sale priority.

"Hosting two NHL talented teams on Oct. 6 is a fantastic addition to the event lineup in celebration of T-Mobile Center’s fifth anniversary," said Brenda Tinnen, T-Mobile Center General Manager and Senior Vice President.

T-Mobile Center has hosted numerous marquee sporting events including a record setting preseason contest between the Los Angeles Kings and the Pittsburgh Penguins, numerous NCAA events and the sold-out 2012 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship. This fall, T-Mobile Center will host the 16th Annual Ice Breaker Tournament featuring Army, Notre Dame, University of Maine and University of Nebraska-Omaha. Three of the four teams are ranked in the “Top 20 Division I Men’s Hockey Teams” according to U.S. College Hockey Online poll, and all teams have won national titles in their respective conferences. In 2013, the award winning venue will again host the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship from March 13-16 and 2013 NCAA Men’s Basketball Second and Third Round action. T-Mobile Center recently earned the ranking of #2 among arenas in the United States and the number 7 spot among worldwide venues according to Pollstar Magazine for the first quarter of 2012, as well as a nomination for ‘Venue of the Year’ by the Academy of Country Music.
