Public Invited to Skate on T-Mobile Center Ice on Aug. 8

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Aug. 5, 2014) – On Saturday, Sept. 27, National Hockey League action returns to Kansas City when the St. Louis Blues host the Dallas Stars. In preparation for the National Hockey League (NHL) preseason game, T-Mobile Center will host Beat the Back to School BLUES, a two day event on Aug. 7-8. 

On Thursday, Aug. 7, St. Louis Blues’ defensemen, Ian Cole along with Blues mascot, Louie, will visit with area youth hockey players during a Chalk Talk prior to taking the ice for a special clinic. On Friday, Ian Cole and Louie will be traveling throughout the metropolitan area visiting local television and radio stations, spending time with patients at the University of Kansas Hospital Pediatric Unit and signing autographs at Oak Park Mall. 

On Friday, Aug. 8, T-Mobile Center invites the public to lace up their skates for a rare opportunity to skate on center ice between 3-8 p.m. Entry to Beat the Back to School BLUES is complimentary with a ticket to the Dallas Stars vs. St. Louis Blues preseason NHL game.  Guests may also gain admission for only $12 by stopping at T-Mobile Center Box Office prior to entry on the day of the event. A limited number of ice skates will be available on a first come, first served basis. Guests may RSVP for Friday’s open skate by visiting t-mobilecenter.com.
