Reach Out and Read and The Wiggles Collect Books at T-Mobile Center

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 28, 2009) – The Wiggles are proud to team up with the national literacy program, Reach Out and Read (ROR) on their “Go Bananas Live!" Summer Tour. The Wiggles invite their fans to donate a new children’s book to ROR at either the 1:30 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. performance at T-Mobile Center on Aug. 1.

ROR trains doctors and nurses to advise parents about the importance of reading aloud and to give books to children between 6 months and 5 years old at regular pediatric checkups. The Wiggles encourage every family attending the upcoming Kansas City, Mo. performances, to join them in supporting Reach Out and Read Programs in Kansas City by bringing a new children’s book that will be donated to a child in need. For a list of recommended books, visit www.thewiggles.com. Reach Out and Read has always said that “Reading is doctor-recommended.” Now reading is Wiggle-recommended too.
