Shani Tate Ross Named to 2022 Women in Music Top Executives List by Billboard Magazine

Kansas City, MO (March 1, 2022) – Shani Tate Ross, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for T-Mobile Center, Kansas City’s award winning downtown arena, has been named to Billboard’s 2022 Women in Music Executive List. Billboard is the world’s most influential music media brand reaching key executives and tastemakers in and around the music business through Billboard Magazine, Billboard.biz, Billboard Conferences, Billboard Bulletin, and millions of music fans through Billboard.com and Billboard Events. Hosted by Ciara, the event will officially return on March 2 with a live ceremony at Hollywood Park's YouTube Theatre in Los Angeles. The event is a celebration of the A-list and rising artists, creatives, producers and executives and their contributions to music. “Billboard’s Women in Music is an annual opportunity for us to celebrate undeniably influential women from across the industry,” Julian Holguin, president of Billboard, said. 

Shani Tate Ross, a Kansas City native leads efforts related to achieving measurable revenue objectives including Partnership Sales & Service, Premium Experiences and Marketing and Communications at T-Mobile Center. During the pandemic, T-Mobile Center’s Sales & Marketing team continued to achieve revenue goals through seamless integration of data-driven initiatives designed to enhance the experience of partners, clients, guests and fans. Recognized by the National Diversity & Leadership Conference as one of the Top 50 Leaders in Entertainment, Shani joined the arena as Director of Marketing & Communications and was promoted to a variety of roles throughout her tenure. In Feb. 2012, she was promoted to Vice President and in July 2018, she was promoted to her current position of Vice President of Sales & Marketing where she oversees all efforts related to revenue generation and partnership marketing.

Previously, Shani honed her strategic communications and public relations expertise by developing marketing programs & community outreach strategies, managing player relations and executing special events for the Kansas City Royals Baseball Club. She was selected to participate in Major League Baseball’s Executive Development Program and is a graduate of Centurions, a two-year leadership program sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. She has been the invited keynote speaker for Lift Her Up Women’s Foundation, Missouri Marketers Convention, among others. An avid volunteer, Shani is committed to improving the lives of women and children through various civic involvement efforts. Current and previous board service includes leadership positions with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, Women’s Council of the University of Missouri, The Links, Incorporated,  Event & Arena Marketing Conference, and Jack & Jill of America. She earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration with a marketing emphasis from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree. Shani makes her home in Leawood, Kan., with her husband Davyeon, and twins, Tatum and Beckham.
