T-Mobile Center Earns Eighth Spot Among U.S. Arenas

Kansas City, Mo. (Oct. 5, 2015) – Pollstar Magazine, the leading concert and venue industry publication, released 2015 third quarter rankings for live entertainment and concert ticket sales. In the third quarter issue, T-Mobile Center was named 8th busiest arena in the United States —ranking only behind venues in New York City, Los Angeles and Dallas.

T-Mobile Center, Kansas City’s award winning downtown arena, opened its’ 2015-2016 fiscal year in style with five consecutive sold-out concerts and an amazing 12 show run of Disney On Ice: Frozen. More than 122,000 guests attended events featuring Shania Twain, Chris Brown, the Foo Fighters, two sold-out Kevin Hart shows, Disney on Ice: Frozen and two sold-out concerts by Taylor Swift.

“T-Mobile Center is humbled to celebrate eight years of operation and begin our 2015-16 fiscal year at the eighth spot among U.S. arenas and the 15th busiest among worldwide arenas,” said Brenda Tinnen, T-Mobile Center/AEG Kansas City general manager and senior vice president. “With 17 capacity events complimented by numerous private hospitality functions, the energy in the arena and downtown area was electric.”

Pollstar utilizes an extensive database to collect box office reports from the world’s top-level artists, promoters and venues during the 2015 calendar year. The result is a series of eagerly anticipated rankings and industry outlook that are included in the magazine’s popular 3rd Quarter issue.

To close out 2015, T-Mobile Center will host more diverse events including Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and the CBE Classic Basketball Tournament featuring Kansas State, Missouri, North Carolina and Northwestern. Additionally, several exciting 2016 programming announcements are anticipated in the coming weeks.
