T-Mobile Center Launches Fifth Anniversary Ranking Sixth Among US Arenas

Kansas City, Mo. (Oct. 12, 2012) – T-Mobile Center, Kansas City’s award winning downtown arena, marks five years of operation this month and earned the #6 ranking among US arenas and 24th most attended venue in the world for 2012 according to Pollstar Magazine. Pollstar Magazine, a leading concert and venue industry publication, ranks the Top 200 venues in the world based on tickets sold for live entertainment performances between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30, 2012. Pollstar utilizes an extensive database to collect box office reports from nearly 100 percent of the world’s top-level artists, promoters and venues.

In 2012, T-Mobile Center has hosted several diverse concerts including setting a new venue concert attendance record with Jason Aldean on March 17. Kansas City has also enjoyed sold-out shows in a variety of genres including Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band, Big Time Rush, Eric Church, Joel Osteen, Brad Paisley, New Edition, George Strait and Martina McBride, Radiohead, Nickelback and Drake as well as family shows and motorsports events.

Additionally, T-Mobile Center earned its third consecutive Venue of the Year nomination from the Academy of Country Music and Brenda Tinnen, senior vice president and general manager, recently was nominated for 2012 Facility Executive of the Year by the International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA).
