T-Mobile Center Recognized as America’s Fourth Busiest Arena

Pollstar Magazine, a leading concert and venue industry publication, released their 2016 Mid-Year Report and industry analysis including rankings of the world’s top tours, promoters, arenas, theaters and more. T-Mobile Center ranks as the fourth busiest arena in the United States and no. 15 among worldwide venues in the 2016 Mid-Year issue.

“T-Mobile Center’s ranking as America’s fourth busiest arena and the No. 15 arena in the world is a testament to live entertainment fans in the Midwest,” said Brenda Tinnen, AEG Kansas City/T-Mobile Center general manager and senior vice president. “As the nation’s 33rd ranked media market, Kansas City’s inclusion among America’s largest metropolitan areas and cities across the world directly speaks to the region’s appetite for concerts and entertainment alternatives.”

Pollstar utilizes an extensive database to collect box office reports from nearly 100 percent of the world’s top-level artists, promoters and venues. Rankings are based on tickets sold for live entertainment performances between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2016.

According to Pollstar Magazine:

  • T-Mobile Center was one of four US concert venues listed in the top fifteen spots among the Top 100 Worldwide Arenas – only trailing venues in the New York City metropolitan area, the largest media market in the country.
  • Six of the top 10 US arena concert tours have visited or are scheduled to visit T-Mobile Center in 2016 including Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, The Who, Black Sabbath & Cirque du Soleil ‘Toruk.’

In addition, Kansas City’s award winning venue will close out the summer schedule by welcoming Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas (Aug. 6), Gwen Stefani & EVE (Aug. 12), Julion Alvarez (Aug. 13), 5 Seconds of Summer (Aug. 20), Def Leppard & REO Speedwagon (Aug. 26), Dixie Chicks (Aug. 30), and Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour Featuring Puff Daddy (Aug. 31).
