Kansas City, MO (April 15, 2013) – Pollstar Magazine, a leading concert and venue industry publication released 2013 first quarter rankings for live entertainment and concert ticket sales. In the issue hitting newsstands this week, T-Mobile Center earned the ranking of third busiest arena in the United States and no. 11 among worldwide venues. The award winning arena located in Kansas City, Mo., T-Mobile Center, was ranked behind American venues located in Miami, Fl. and San Jose, Calif. Pollstar utilizes an extensive database to collect box office reports from nearly 100 percent of the world’s top-level artists, promoters and venues.

Rankings are based on tickets sold for live entertainment performances between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2013.

“Kansas City has enjoyed an incredible start in 2013 being ranked third among U.S. arenas,” said Brenda Tinnen, AEG Kansas City general manager and senior vice president. “The entire T-Mobile Center team works hard to maintain a standard of excellence in attracting world-class, live entertainment and sporting events to our region.”

In addition to hosting more than 200,000 basketball fans for the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championship and second-/third- round action of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship as well as family shows and motorsports events, T-Mobile Center hosted diverse programming from a variety of genres including Kid Rock, Lady Gaga, Zac Brown Band and Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley. The award winning venue continues to work diligently in creating an environment where guests and artists can enjoy a state-of-the-art entertainment experience and is honored to receive support from guests throughout the region. In fact, T-Mobile Center/AEG has provided more than $8 million in unanticipated revenue to the City of Kansas City, having exceeded financial and attendance projections in each year since opening.
