T-Mobile Center Anticipates 300,000 Guests in 30 Days

ACM Nomination, Venue Records in Gross & Attendance Launch Phenomenal Month

T-Mobile Center, Kansas City’s award winning arena, is preparing to welcome more than 300,000 guests to a variety of diverse events beginning with the Eric Clapton concert on March 3.

"The next 30 days will be T-Mobile Center’s busiest since our successful opening run. From setting venue records in concert attendance and gross with Elton John and Billy Joel to an action packed March, it is an honor to be the conduit for such positive energy throughout the region,” said Brenda Tinnen, AEG Kansas City general manager and senior vice president. "Beginning with Eric Clapton to the Big 12 Men’s Basketball Championships to Taylor Swift and all events in between, Kansas City’s hospitality and passion for world class entertainment will be on display on a national stage.”

Opened in Oct. 2007, T-Mobile Center’s continued success garnered its third consecutive nomination as ‘Best Arena of the Year’ by Pollstar Magazine. The leading concert trade publication ranks T-Mobile Center at No. 16 among worldwide venues and No. 5 among U.S. concert venues -- behind venues in New York City, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta.

Elton John and Billy Joel: Face 2 Face on Feb. 27, 2010, was the arena’s highest concert attendance and highest grossing one-event show to date.

The Academy of Country Music recently announced that T-Mobile Center has earned a nomination for 2009 venue of the year. Other nominees include: BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion in Gilford, N.H., Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. and Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion in Raleigh, N.C. Winners will be announced April 18.
