T-Mobile Center Earns #16 Spot Among Worldwide Venues

In Pollstar Magazine’s recently released its Mid-Year Report, T-Mobile Center earned recognition as #16 among all worldwide venues. The current issue of the leading industry publication hit newsstands this week also indicates that T-Mobile Center’s 2009 attendance landed the Kansas City landmark at No. 4 among U.S. concert venues.

"T-Mobile Center’s ranking of #16 in the world and #4 in the United States continues the trend of positive momentum for Kansas City and the region,” said Brenda Tinnen, AEG Kansas City/T-Mobile Center general manager and senior vice president. “In 2009, T-Mobile Center has been fortunate to welcome its 2 millionth guest and host a number of sold-out shows -- setting the stage for a strong remainder of the year. T-Mobile Center is humbled and honored by the remarkable support from guests, artists, managers, promoters and partners.”

Celine Dion, Rascal Flatts, AC/DC, The Eagles, Kenny Chesney, Fleetwood Mac, Nickelback and Britney Spears were among T-Mobile Center’s sold out concerts during the first half of 2009 as well as welcoming nine of the top 10 North American Tours. In addition, T-Mobile Center also hosted sold-out, nationally televised events including first- and second- rounds of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championships, PBR: Professional Bull Riders and WWE Raw and SMACKdown!

Pollstar maintains an extensive database and collects box office reports from nearly 100 percent of the world’s top-level artists, promoters and venues. The rankings are based on tickets sold for live entertainment performances between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2009.
