Sprint Center Earns #16 Spot Among Worldwide Venues

In Pollstar Magazine’s recently released its Mid-Year Report, Sprint Center earned recognition as #16 among all worldwide venues. The current issue of the leading industry publication hit newsstands this week also indicates that Sprint Center’s 2009 attendance landed the Kansas City landmark at No. 4 among U.S. concert venues.

"Sprint Center’s ranking of #16 in the world and #4 in the United States continues the trend of positive momentum for Kansas City and the region,” said Brenda Tinnen, AEG Kansas City/Sprint Center general manager and senior vice president. “In 2009, Sprint Center has been fortunate to welcome its 2 millionth guest and host a number of sold-out shows -- setting the stage for a strong remainder of the year. Sprint Center is humbled and honored by the remarkable support from guests, artists, managers, promoters and partners.”

Celine Dion, Rascal Flatts, AC/DC, The Eagles, Kenny Chesney, Fleetwood Mac, Nickelback and Britney Spears were among Sprint Center’s sold out concerts during the first half of 2009 as well as welcoming nine of the top 10 North American Tours. In addition, Sprint Center also hosted sold-out, nationally televised events including first- and second- rounds of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championships, PBR: Professional Bull Riders and WWE Raw and SMACKdown!
