Kansas City, Mo. (June 16, 2014) - The GRAMMY Museum announced names of 24 students participating in the third installment of The GRAMMY Museum’s Music Revolution Project. Having debuted as a pilot program in 2012, the education initiative offers talented youth the opportunity to engage in musical discourse and performance with their peers, spurring innovative ideas within the realm of American music.

With generous support from T-Mobile Center/AEG, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and The Recording Academy, The GRAMMY Museum's Music Revolution Project stimulates creative young musicians by connecting them with GRAMMY-level artists. Kansas City area students will broaden musical and creative skills while establishing relationships through forums, rehearsals and mentoring. This four-week summer academy will begin in Kansas City at T-Mobile Center on June 16 and culminate on July 10 with a formal student concert for family, friends and the community at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

The summer enrichment program is part of a larger picture sustaining Kansas City’s contributions to entertainment and the arts. In tandem with 2012’s launch of The GRAMMY Museum’s Music Revolution Project, T-Mobile Center and The GRAMMY Museum introduced the GRAMMY Museum Experience @ T-Mobile Center. Open to the public, the permanent exhibit located inside T-Mobile Center celebrates all forms of music and the history of the GRAMMY Awards through dynamic displays, interactive exhibits and legendary artifacts. Educational trips and summer programming highlight careers in music for Kindergarten through twelfth grade students within greater Kansas City’s school districts. All programming, including The GRAMMY Museum’s Music Revolution Project aims to help students use music as a gateway to learning and as a way to inspire and cultivate creativity and critical thinking.
