Kansas City Invited to ‘BEAT THE HEAT’ by Skating on T-Mobile Center Ice on Aug. 13

After weeks of record-breaking heat in the Kansas City area, the Los Angeles Kings announced a special invitation for fans throughout the area to BEAT THE HEAT by skating on center ice at T-Mobile Center. For the first time since opening in Oct. 2007, the general public will be allowed to skate on T-Mobile Center ice on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 10 a.m. -6 p.m. Fans of all ages are invited to participate in this family friendly event.

Starting today, fans purchase a BEAT THE HEAT package for only $11 through Saturday, Aug. 13 or while supplies last. The BEAT THE HEAT package includes one admission to open skate on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 10 a.m.-6 pm. and one ticket to the NHL preseason game on Sept. 27 when the Pittsburgh Penguins face off against the Los Angeles Kings. Fans may bring their own skates or take advantage of complimentary skate rental. The all-inclusive BEAT THE HEAT skating package is available for $11 at either T-Mobile Center Box Office or online at t-mobilecenter.com. All fans with tickets for the Sept. 27 NHL game may gain admission to the BEAT THE HEAT skate by presenting photo ID or proof of purchase at T-Mobile Center Box Office on the day of the event.

On Sept. 27, Kansas City will host the Pittsburgh Penguins and Sidney Crosby, witnessing a return to the ice by the Penguins’ captain since suffering a concussion in Jan. that limited him to 41 games in 2010-11 season. Led by captain Dustin Brown and club recordholder in shootout goals and shootout percentage, Jarret Stoll, the LA Kings Hockey Club returns to T-Mobile Center for an intense contest between two 2011 Stanley Cup Playoff Teams.

Game tickets for the Penguins vs. Kings presented by TOYOTA start at only $10. Individual tickets are available at various levels including $25, $50, $60, $75 and on ice seats for $125 each.
